Great South Tour

Day 1. Marrakech

We begin our tour in Marrakech's airport.

During the day we visit the city.

Marrakech is the city of four colors: the ocher of the land, the white of the Atlas, the blue of the sky, and the green of the vegetation.

The city was constructed with endemic materials of the region: the wood from the forests of the Atlas, the blue stone and the sand. This was the way Marrakech was born, an oasis of snow and gold.

Day 2. Essaouira

We get out in the morning, to visit the Medina, (Essaouira's old city), food and rest, later to the beach to swim and to sunbathe calmly.
We will spend the night in a hotel

Day 3. Essaouira - Ait Ben-Haddou

We will pass again through Marrakech, towards the village of Ait Ourir. The road becomes thinner to cross the neck Tiz-in-Tichka (2,260 meters of altitude). The slope is up the valley of the Ued Tamesnar. We will visit the Tighremt Irhem N'Ougdal's, fortified building made of adobe and stone, its towers allow alertness of the surroundings of the village. Another jewel of the region, declared world patrimony by UNESCO, is the Ait Benhaddou village, strengthened by beautiful crenellated and decorated towers, one of the most beautiful of the Glaua region. This is where we will spend the night in a hotel.

Day 4. Ouarzazate - Tineghir

We will discover the village of Skoura (42 km), placed in the heart of the Valley of the Palms. A walk along the oasis, with a rich vegetation that gives value to the secret kasbahs, from here, we will enter the Gorges of Dadès. The valley ends at the village of Boulmane with the road full of kasbahs and ksour, that give to the landscape dyes of ocher, red and mauve color.

We will pass through a stony plateau where camels graze. After road full of ksour, oasis and palm groves, we will come to Tineghir placed at 1,350 m of altitude and surrounded by beautiful palm groves where we will spend the night in a hotel.

Day 5: Tineghir - Erfoud

We will visit the Gorges of the Todgha, its walls rise up to 300 m of height. After visiting this spectacular landscape, we will go towards the town of Tinejdad (55 km) to reach the Ksar de Touroug (35 km), surrounded by a  nice oasis.

Later we will penetrate Jorf's palm grove that takes us up to Erfoud where the best dates of the country are gathered, Erfoud is the entry door to the desert. Voluptuous dunes, thin and golden sands.
Merzouga's dunes are accessible in vehicles, thanks to the tape of asphalt that replaced the old track.

Day 6: Erfoud - Zagora

This itinerary goes through the Saharan regions of the south of the Djebel Sagho. They go towards Rissani, 3 km before arrival, we will pass through Alnif, by a road that rises across a desert landscape.

Later we will come to the village of Mcessi, lost in the heart of the desert. After Alnif, we will arrive to Tazzarine's palm grove, a jewel. Beautiful villages are leaned to the Djebel Tizouguirine. We will pass through the towns Kob and Tansikht, and will join in the Valley of the Draa, immense serpent of greenery that penetrates the desert approximately 250 km and that will lead us to Zagora.

Day 7: Zagora - Ouarzazate

From Zagora we depart towards Ouarzazate through Draa’s Valley (164 km from tarred road), discovering numerous villages and oasis.

After Agdz, the voyage of the Djebel Sagho, with its amazing dunes that ressemble heart alike forms, assures us an impressive tour.

Day 8: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

We will return to Marrakech through the neck Tiz-in-Tichka, in the heart of the Atlas. The slope offers a colored exceptional panorama on the plain of the Haouz.
