Tour Itinerary: 4 Days Tour From Marrakech to Essaouira – Oualidia – El Jadida – Casablanca
Day 1: MARRAKECH – ESSAOUIRA
Leave Marrakech after breakfast to enjoy a leisurely scenic drive through the Moroccan countryside as you pass by the beautiful landscapes, wild argan tree groves, and villages, watching some camels and goats peacefully grazing in the countryside.
You might see tree-climbing goats eating argan fruits and jumping from branch to branch. Make a stop at a local co-op where Berber women buy some argan oil for cooking and cosmetics.
Arrive in Essaouira, formerly called Mogador by Portuguese settlers, just in time for lunch. Then, explore at your leisure. Enjoy your lunch at one of many authentic restaurants serving freshly caught seafood with sea views.
After lunch, you might want to visit a city port to photograph candy-colored fishing boats and a small fish market right there in the port and explore the Medina and an ancient Portuguese fortress.
Day 2: ESSAOUIRA – Excursions
Essaouira is one of the famous charming Moroccan cities by the ocean, where the air is soaked with salt and filled with screams of seagulls.
A city with interesting architecture that combines the styles of many civilizations and cultures, Essaouira is featured in the game of Throne as the port city of Astapor.
After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Medina with its whitewashed houses, art galleries, and endless tables of souvenirs. Wander around the fishing port, food stalls, and Portuguese fortifications, and go to Essaouira beach for a long walk.
You can also ask your driver to take you to one of the beaches outside Essaouira or visit a renowned winery for a tasting of some reds, whites, and roses wines made with the grapes grown in the spacious vineyard and have lunch there. Dinner at the riad or on your own.
Day 3: ESSAOUIRA – OUALIDIA – EL JADIDA
Continue your trip from Marrakech to Casablanca by leaving Essaouira after breakfast and arriving in Oualidia for a little break and lunch by the lagoon. The oysters here are known all across Morocco.
Reach El Jadida, the ancient Portuguese city of Mazagan, which is added to the World Heritage List. If time permits you can explore El Jadida medina, visit the Portuguese cistern and fortifications, spend time outside the medina walls in the modern city, or go to a beach for a walk.
It is safe and comfortable to be on your own. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: EL JADIDA – CASABLANCA (1.5-hour drive)
Depending on your departure time and your interests you can either leave El Jadida for Casablanca airport for a morning flight. Drop off at the airport. End of your Marrakech to Casablanca tour.
If your flight schedule permits, you can include a Casablanca stay in your itinerary. If you wish to visit the Hassan II Mosque of Casablanca or get accounted with the city, we can also either skip El Jadida and go straight to Casablanca after lunch in Oualidia or plan for an extra day of stay in Casablanca after El Jadida.
