Tour Itinerary: Wonderful 5 Days Tour from Rabat to Merzouga and end in Marrakech

DAY 1: RABAT – MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – FES

Merzouga Tours organizes a tour from Rabat with experienced drivers and local Sahara guides. 5-Day Rabat Tour to Merzouga and Marrakech starts after hotel pick-up. Then we drive to Meknes.

We visit the gate of Bab Mansour. Then we visit the Unesco site of Volubilis with Romain ruins. Then we drive to Fes and you visit Medina with a local guide. You visit Attarine Medersas , then Karaouine Mosque , and the Bab Boujeloud. Accommodation at a local hotel.

DAY 2: FES – IFRAN – AZROU – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

After breakfast we explore Ifran referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”, and then you visit Azrou and the cedar forest. After lunch, in Midelt we travel via Errachidia and Ziz Valley. We explore the city of Erfoud which is well-known for its fossil factories. Then we reach Merzouga. Overnight in a desert hotel with dinner.

DAY 3: DESERT EXCURSION IN MERZOUGA

We discover the region of Merzouga and also visit the village of Khamlia where you enjoy live Gnawa music. Then you will explore the desert lake with its different kinds of birds.

We visit the town of Rissani (the origin of the Alaouite dynasty and the ancient capital of Sultans Alaouite) with its fortified villages and souks. Then we drive back to the hotel and we prepare for the camel trek, we watch the desert sunset. Overnight in a desert tent in Erg Chebbi dunes.

DAY 4: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – TODRA VALLEY – DADES GORGES

Our 5-Day Rabat Tour to Merzouga and Marrakech continues and our camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to watch the sunrise in Sahara. Then we camel-trek back to your hotel and after breakfast, we’ll leave for Rissani, then Tinghir and Todra Gorges as the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco.

Then we arrive at Dades Valley for dinner and accommodation in the kasbah.

DAY 5: DADES GORGES – SKOURA – AIT BENHADDOU – MARRAKECH

After breakfast we travel to Skoura, then we visit Ouarzazate and its Atlas studios. We visit also the Kasbahs Taouirt and we continue to Ait Ben Haddou. Here many films were shot such as Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and The Gladiator. Then we continue to Marrakech, via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m).
