Tour from Tangier to Marrakech in 4 Days – Itinerary

Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fes

We will meet you at the port or your accommodation in Tangier and begin our journey through the Rif Mountains and the city of Tetouan. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking mountain views until we arrive in the enchanting blue town of Chefchaouen, nestled at the foot of the Rif Mountains.

Here, you’ll have time to explore the charming medina, with its Spanish-style square, colorful artisan shops, rooftop restaurants, and cozy cafés. After lunch, we continue our drive to Fes, where you will spend the night in a traditional riad or hotel.

Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)

After breakfast, we’ll depart Fes and head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane (often called “Little Switzerland”) and the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you may spot wild Barbary macaques.

We’ll then travel through the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass to Midelt, with stunning views of volcanic rock formations and the Middle Atlas plateau. As we approach Errachidia, the scenery begins to shift towards desert landscapes.

After lunch, we continue through the lush Ziz Valley, passing through Erfoud and Rissani, before reaching Merzouga. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a welcome glass of mint tea before leaving your luggage safely stored. Then, embark on a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi (about 1.5 hours) to reach your desert camp.

Spend the evening in a comfortable Berber tent, complete with mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After dinner, gather around the campfire and enjoy traditional Berber music under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the dunes, then ride camels back to Merzouga. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, we set out towards Tinghir and the magnificent Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon with towering rock walls popular among climbers.

In the afternoon, we continue to the Dades Valley, known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Dinner and overnight stay in a local riad or hotel.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After breakfast, we drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna (the Valley of Roses) and the palm groves of Skoura. We then continue to Ouarzazate, nicknamed the “Hollywood of Africa” for its famous film studios.

Next, we visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest and most famous ksar in Morocco, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After exploring the kasbah, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m altitude), stopping for panoramic views and a visit to an Argan oil cooperative along the way.

We arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where our journey ends.
