Merzouga is approximately 600 kilometres from Imlil by road, depending on the selected route. Direct driving takes around 10 hours, with additional time needed for meals, sightseeing and rest stops. A multi-day itinerary allows you to break up the journey and explore southern Morocco.

Merzouga village can be reached by paved road, so a 4x4 is not required for the main journey. Access to your desert camp depends on its location. A camel trek or a suitable 4x4 transfer can be arranged for the final desert section.

Our tours can be organized privately for couples, families, friends and groups. A private tour allows flexible stops, accommodation choices and an itinerary adapted to your interests and travel plans.

A 2-day tour involves very long driving days and limited sightseeing time, especially if you plan to return to Imlil. A 3-day itinerary breaks up the outward journey, although the return can still be long. Choose 4 or 5 days for a more relaxed pace, additional sightseeing and more time in the Merzouga desert.

Camel trekking can be included in your selected package. Enjoy a ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes with opportunities to watch the sunset and take photographs. If you prefer not to ride a camel, ask about a 4x4 camp transfer. The arrangements will be confirmed before booking.

You can request a traditional or luxury desert camp. Luxury options may offer private bathrooms and more comfortable bedding. Facilities, availability and prices depend on the selected camp and your travel dates.

Depending on your selected package, the tour can include private air-conditioned transportation, an experienced driver, fuel, hotel accommodation, a desert camp, camel trekking or a camp transfer, dinners and breakfasts. Your itinerary, inclusions and exclusions will be confirmed before booking.

You can request an itinerary ending in Marrakech or Fes instead of returning to Imlil. Please tell us your preferred drop-off location when enquiring so we can confirm the route, duration and price.

A private itinerary can be adapted for families with children, with regular breaks and suitable accommodation. Because the journey involves long distances, a 4 or 5-day tour offers more flexibility. Please share your children's ages and any transport or accommodation requirements before booking.

You can request a combined itinerary with walking or trekking in the Atlas Mountains followed by a Merzouga desert tour. Tell us your preferred trek, fitness level and available travel days so we can discuss suitable arrangements. Trekking days should be allowed for separately from the desert journey.
